In the red pine mushroom planting shed of Hunan Chunjintang Biotechnology Development Co., Ltd. in Meitian Town, Yizhang County, Jiang Xingjian, a researcher from the Provincial Edible Fungi Research Institute, guided workers to plant red pine mushroom. The new variety of red pine mushroom cultivated by him has been promoted and planted on 500-mu (33.3-hectare) land in villages and towns such as Meitian Town, Yuxi Town, and Jiangshui Township due to its high yield and good profits.
At present, with the help of scientific and technological talent and the support of the R&D Center of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the edible mushroom industry in Yizhang has been transformed and upgraded from mere mushroom planting to deep processing, cultivating the high value-added products, and promoting the continuous growth of the enterprise.
At the Taifeng Oil Tea Base and Haoxiang Oil Tea Base in Jiangshui Township, several specialists carefully examined the leaves of the oil tea trees, analyzed the problems caused by pests, and instructed the further methods based on the current growth situation.
Yu Jinxiu, an associate researcher of the Provincial Academy of Forestry Sciences and expert on pest control of oil tea trees, said that the talent would give on-site guidance to oil tea growers about when to start pest prevention and control, what kind of chemicals to use, and what kind of testing to use two or three times every quarter.
The Haoxiang Oil Tea Base in Jiangshui Township has planted a total of 1,600 mu (about 106.67 hectares) of oil tea trees. Huang Yong in charge of the base said that in recent years, under the one-on-one technical guidance of the scientific and technological talent, the yield of oil tea has increased and the quality of oil tea has improved despite the long-term unfavorable weather conditions.
In recent years, Yizhang County has introduced 150 scientific and technological talents from the province, city and county levels to establish an expert team. The service team, consisting of six professional service groups concerning navel orange, oil tea, tea, and aquaculture, works with three professional associations, 127 enterprises, and 91 villages, and provides technology services for advantageous industries, such as navel orange, oil tea, and tea, new industries such as electro-optic display, and characteristic industries such as acorn and bayberry. By doing so, it has promoted the high-quality development of Yizhang’s economy and society.
